Taxation

Dealing with tax compliance issues is a fundamental part of our core business and tax planning to minimise tax liabilities is as important as ensuring you conform to the ever increasing mountain of tax legislation.

Self Assessment Tax Returns

We can assist with the preparation of your tax return, either:

  • Information can be emailed to us and the final return emailed back to you. All we will require is a copy of the signed page to submit the return to HM Revenue & Customs. This will be done electronically ensuring all matters are dealt with as early as possible and any repayment due made promptly.
  • Information can be posted to us. We will then prepare the return and post it to you for signature. The full form should be returned signed and we will then submit it to HM Revenue and Customs electronically as above.
  • We can have a meeting in which you bring all your tax papers with you and we prepare the tax return for you whilst you are in our office
  • At your office or home, again we can prepare the return whilst we are with you and forward the return to you on return to our office.

Tax repayment claims
If may be that you are not in the self assessment system but are due a tax repayment or perhaps you do not know your tax position.

We can look at your tax papers for a minimum fee and advise of the position. If you are due a tax refund we will then agree a fee and prepare the tax claim form(s), you can claim for more than one year. Contact helen@mcintyrestuart.eu for more details or telephone 01353 649100.
Partnership self assessment tax returns
Partnerships do not pay tax, the income from the partnership needs to be shown on the individual partners self assessment tax returns. However, the partnership must prepare a tax return and submit it to HM Revenue & Customs to advise them of the partnership share for each partner.

We can assist in the preparation of the tax return and review the tax position for each partner.
Company tax returns
Companies have to pay corporation tax and file a corporation tax return within twelve months of there accounts year end (with a few exceptions). The tax is normally based on the accounts for the same period but the tax liability can be affected by associated companies and the purchase of assets in the year.

We can prepare the corporation tax return, review the position to date and advise on any tax saving possibilities.
